
BirdFest and Bluegrass is 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 4 in downtown Ridgefield and in the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, featuring nature walks, live bluegrass music, crafts in Davis Park and shopping from local artisans and vendors. Browse the vendor market and children’s entrepreneur market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hear live music and join spontaneous jam sessions around town from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take a free dragonboat paddle from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The refuge will be open and fee-free for the day. Hike the Kiwa Trail or the scenic Carty Lake Trail, allowing hikers to walk from the Port of Ridgefield into the Refuge’s Carty Unit and follow a 4.8 mile loop through downtown and back to the port. The River ‘S’ Auto Tour will also be open. Event parking is available at the Carty Unit, 28908 N.
