Chamber Music Northwest presents Igor Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale” performed by an ensemble of Curtis Institute of Music alumni. Two preeminent Curtis Institute graduates—CMNW Artistic Director Emeritus David Shifrin and Artistic Director Soovin Kim—team up with Curtis’s rising-star performers, joined by actor and narrator John de Lancie (“Star Trek” and “Breaking Bad”) who voices the characters. The program also features stirring masterpieces by Penderecki and Poulenc and features Curtis alumnus composers Viet Cuong and Nicholas DiBerardino with a Star Trek-inspired new work. The performance is 7:30 p.m. March 14 at the Alberta Rose Theatre, 3000 N.E. Alberta St., Portland. Tickets range from $10 to $62.50 at cmnw.org/concerts-tickets/2022-23-season/curtis-institute-on-tour-the-soldiers-tale/1731.
