The Clark College Jazz Band will present its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. June 8 in the Gaiser Student Center on Clark College’s main campus at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver. The concert features saxophone soloist Tim Jensen. The band will play pieces from the Count Basie library and a piece commissioned by the NW Jazz Conspiracy, completing the “Blues Trilogy,” giving tribute to Louis Armstrong. The centerpiece of the concert is Leonard Bernstein’s challenging “Prelude, Fugue and Riffs” featuring Jensen on clarinet. Admission to the performance free and it’s open to the public. Donations to the Clark College Music Department are welcome at the door.
