Community tree-planting event

Friends of Trees will host a tree-planting event from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 13 along the Fourth Plain Corridor. Meet at Unitarian Universalist Church of Vancouver, 4505 E. 18th St., Vancouver. Volunteers will plant dozens of six- to 10-foot-tall trees. Volunteers will be assigned to a crew before planting starts at 9 a.m. Friends of Trees will provide gloves, tools and guidance as well as snacks and hot drinks. Volunteers should dress for the weather and dress to get dirty. Register at friendsoftrees.org/event-calendar/.
