The Council for the Homeless fundraiser, “Gathering for Change: Solving Homelessness Together,” is 5 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Kiggins Theatre. The keynote speaker is Marc Eichenbaum, who will share how Houston has found permanent homes for 25,000 people over the past 11 years. The event will also include a first-person story from Geri, describing her journey from a tent encampment in Clark County to her current residence in a safe home. Tickets are $125 per person or watch the livestreamed event at no charge. Food and beverages will be served for in-person guests. People who opt for livestreaming will receive a coupon for a complimentary meal from Little Conejo. Ticket purchases and donations support the Council’s work in the community to prevent and end homelessness. Details and registration links are at www.councilforthehomeless.org/gatheringforchange. The Kiggins will open its doors at 4:30 p.m. on the day of the event. Livestream viewers will enjoy a preshow at 5 p.m. before the program begins at 5:30 p.m.
