
The Emergency Preparedness and Safety Fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 19 at Manor Grange, 17901 N.E. 72nd Ave., Vancouver. The US Geological Survey-Cascades Volcano Observatory will be on hand to share volcano hazard and preparedness information, kicking off Volcano Awareness Month in May and marking the 45th anniversary of the Mount St. Helens eruption on May 18, 1980. Emergency teams represented at this event include crime awareness, wildfires, survival kits, search and rescue, animal evacuation, personal defense tools, food preservation and storage and sex trafficking. Attendees may enter a drawing for a handcrafted quilt with proceeds to benefit Battle Ground Adventist Community Services Food Bank.
