Luminarias Dia De Muertos

Vancouver Ballet Folklórico and local supporting organizations will host Luminaria Dia De Muertos from 2 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19 at Esther Short Park, 301 W. Eighth St., Vancouver. This free event honors the ancestral tradition of Dia de Muertos that has been an indigenous celebration before colonization. Dia de Muertos honors those who have passed on through dance, music and a celebration of life. Attendees are invited to light luminarias (little lanterns) on on the “Tree of Life” or place photos of loved ones on an altar. Learn more at vbfolklor.org/luminarias-dia-de-muertos.
