The Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation and Technology is at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) from Aug. 21-25. More than 160 films will be screened and over 80 filmmakers from the Pacific Northwest and around the world will attend. The festival also includes dome film screenings in the Kendall Planetarium, Virtual Reality showcases, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, augmented reality demonstrations, parties and panel discussions on topics ranging from the future of stop-motion animation and how to get a job as an animator to tips and techniques for boosting creativity. On Aug. 25, the festival will conclude with a party and award ceremony in OMSI’s Theory restaurant. Individual screenings are $12 adults, $11 seniors, and $10 youth with $2 off for OMSI members. Festival passes are $48 adults, $46 seniors, and $44 youth with $3 off for OMSI members. Tickets are available at omsi.edu/events/portland-festival-of-cinema-animation-technology.
