
Columbia Springs will host an in-person Repair event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 20. Check-in ends at 12:30 p.m. Bring your broken household items to be fixed for free by experienced volunteer fixers. All items must be small enough to be easily carried by one person. Volunteers cannot repair gas-powered items, hazardous items, vehicles, microwaves, holiday string lights or weapons. What volunteers can repair:
• Appliances: toasters, mixers, lamps, etc.
• Electronics: radios, CD players, DVD players, etc.
• Vintage radios
• Sharpening: knives, scissors, pruners, etc. (nothing with multiple teeth such as a saw blade, hedge trimmers, or chainsaw blades.)
• Sewing: rips, hemming, mending, zippers, etc.
• Wheels: bicycles, wheelchairs, walkers, etc.
• Other: jewelry, home decor, etc.
