The community is invited to a Ribbon Cutting and Art Unveiling at 5 p.m. May 17 at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Cedar Street, followed by a reception at the Attic Gallery space, 421 N.E. Cedar, with refreshments and live music. Hayes Freedom High School student Maria Navarro Alejandres, art teacher Miranda Wakeman, Ziply Fiber, Downtown Camas Association and Camas School District high school students Xander Acain, Shalaka Deshpande, Charlie Irwin, Blu A. Jimenez and Bailey Lim have worked together to create the Camas Culture Art Block, a series of six 4-foot-by-8-foot outdoor panels celebrating diversity on Fifth Avenue between Birch and Cedar Streets.
