Ridgefield Hometown Celebration and Tree Lighting

Ridgefield will host a Hometown Celebration and Tree Lighting on Dec. 7. Enjoy the hometown holiday spirit of historic downtown Ridgefield with twinkling lights, decorated businesses, gifts, food and holiday specials. Browse the Holiday Food and Gift Vendor Marketplace on Main Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. See beautifully decorated trees at Overlook Park. Visit Santa from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Old Liberty Theater. Hear live music on the main stage at Overlook Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attend the tree lighting at Overlook Park at 4:30 p.m. Take a Holiday Hayride any time from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with stops at the waterfront parking lot, Overlook Park and the Union Ridge Elementary parking lot.

On the same day, check out the “celebration station” at the Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center, starting with a YMCA breakfast with Santa at the RACC Commons. Shop the Ridgefield Art Association Chickadee Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. while kids enjoy crafts and activities in the RACC gym.

Union Ridge High School is also hosting a Holiday Bazaar in its gym and cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Get pet photos with Santa at The Neighborhood Refuge and enjoy free cookies and hot cider at the Ridgefield Community Library. Shop at Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene’s Winter Market from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7, featuring food trucks, warm drinks around the fire and live music.
