The Small Acreage Program of WSU Clark County Extension will host Small Acreage Stewardship Tours at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 22. This is a in-person tour of two residences.
The first begins at 10 a.m. at a residence in Battle Ground at 20303 N.E. Bridlewood Rd. Learn about composting manure, stormwater drainage, and learn about wildlife habitat along the Salmon Creek from wildlife specialist Ashley Smithers of Clark Conservation District. Enjoy lunch under a covered bridge over Salmon Creek.
The second tour begins at 1 p.m. in northeast Vancouver of a horse, goat, and sheep small acreage holding with a pond. Learn about animal husbandry, composting manure, septic systems and wildlife habitat on a pond.
