The Art of Watching Movies

The Camas Public Library will offer “The Art of Watching Movies,” an adult workshop from 5:30-7 p.m., on June 18, July 14 and Aug. 14. This series will take a deep dive into America’s passion for watching movies. Each session’s presentations and discussions explore a different aspect of movie-watching, helping you engage more thoughtfully with the films you love. • June 18: “How to Watch”
  Learn the basic framework of active viewing and analyzing films beyond personal enjoyment.
• July 14: “The Language of Film”
  Gain foundational knowledge of formal aspects of filmmaking, including cinematography, editing and sound.
• Aug. 14: “Beyond the Screen”
  Explore theories that examine how movies extend beyond the screen, shaping culture, society and personal perspectives.
