Camas Library hosts Rainbow Reads LGBTQIA+ Teen Book Club
The Camas Public Library hosts the Rainbow Reads Book Club, the first Tuesday of every month from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Rainbow Reads is a book club for LGBTQIA+ teens and their allies. Club attendees will be reading YA fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels that feature LGBTQIA+ characters and themes or literature written by someone from the LGBTQIA+ community. Spend an evening at the Camas Public Library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave., with Tim Tran. From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 7, Tran will relate stories from his award-winning memoir "American Dreamer: How I Escaped Communist Vietnam and Built a Successful Life in America." Joining Tim will be Bob Ferguson, a Marine Corp veteran, Purple Heart recipient and local author. The Camas Public Library will host its Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party from 1 to 4 p.m. June 11 at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave. Camas. The event will feature a performance by the Pegasus Puppet Theatre at 2 p.m. Activities include a bean bag toss, chalk art, hopscotch, paper crafts, a photo booth and a scavenger hunt. The Camas Public Library will host Gnome Mini Golf for first through fifth graders from 10:30 a.m. to noon June 24. Kids will design and build a tabletop putt-putt green for our gnome friends.
