Teen Mental Health Fitness Parent Education and Resource Night

Battle Ground Public Schools will host a free teen mental health event at Prairie Highschool, 11311 N.E. 119th St., from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16.

Depression, anxiety and substance use disorders are among the leading causes of illness and disability among adolescents, according to the World Health Organization. This month, parents and guardians can learn strategies for supporting and connecting with teens by attending this free informational night.

Light refreshments and childcare will be provided.

Topics covered will include:

• Warning signs of mental health conditions or substance use
• Suicide prevention
• Substance use prevention
• How to support and connect with your teen
• Community-based resources

This event is presented by Prevent Together: Battle Ground prevention Alliance in partnership with Battle Ground Public Schools and Prairie High School.
