The VIEW 5K Walk

The VIEW (Vancouver Insight into Endometriosis Walk) 5K is a free event hosted by Extrapelvic Not Rare (501 c3) and a Columbia River High School senior. The VIEW 5K is a noncompetitive educational walk along the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail starting at Klineline Pond, 1112 N.E. 117th St., Vancouver. Displays are provided throughout the course to educate participants about endometriosis, a misunderstood, under-researched and inadequately treated condition affecting 1 in 10 persons assigned female at birth. Although common within the pelvis, the disease can involve any major body system and is associated with other health conditions. The goal of the walk is to provide accurate information to promote earlier diagnosis and treatment.

The walk begins at 10 a.m. with short speeches by medical experts followed by a raffle drawing; raffle tickets are free and prizes are donations from local businesses. The walk starts at 10:25 a.m. Books and DVDs will be available for purchase at the start/finish area. Get details at extrapelvicnotrare.org/events.
