Enjoy a full day of festivities in downtown Ridgefield on Aug. 6 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Three separate events are scheduled on the same day: Ridgefield First Saturday, Paddle for Life Dragon Boat Races, and the inaugural Ridgefield Art Association Forest Fair. All events are free and C-Tran will offer a free shuttle bus between the event locations so guests can park near one and visit all three.
- Ridgefield First Saturday: City Days – Overlook and Davis Park, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Visit Davis Park (North Main Avenue and Mill Street) to learn about stormwater and protecting waterways. See a plow truck, street sweeper, flail mower, backhoe and VAC truck. Learn about Ridgefield’s park and trail network and upcoming park and trail development projects. Check out the Ridgefield Farmers Market and First Saturday vendors at Overlook Park (Main Avenue and Pioneer Street) for produce, bread and pastries, dog treats, jewelry, décor, clothing and candles.
- Dragon Boat Races – Ridgefield Waterfront (west end of Pioneer Street), 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 2022 Paddle for Life Dragon Boat Races will support Camp Mariposa, operated by Lifeline Connections‘ mental health professionals for youth affected by a loved one’s substance abuse. Watch teams paddle down a 250 meter course to the finish line in dragon boats.
- Forest Fair – Abrams Park (end of Division Street), 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Ridgefield Art Association hosts this art, music and family fair featuring artisan booths, live music, food, a tiny parade, a tiny garden contest and a beer and wine garden.
