Magenta Theater presents “Don Quixote de La Center” by local playwright David Bareford, a loose adaptation of Miguel de Cervantes 1605 novel, “Don Quixote de la Mancha” set in contemporary La Center at a group home for senior citizens. Aging resident Don Quintero decides he is a knight of old and embarks on misadventures comic and heartfelt as he and those around him grapple with dementia, identity and what truly defines us.
Nine performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, and 27 and at 2 p.m. Aug. 14, 21 and 28 at Magenta Theater, 1108 Main St., Vancouver. Doors open a half hour before showtime.
