Portland Film Festival features “Buffalo Soldiers” by Vancouver filmmaker

The 10th anniversary Portland Film Festival is screening a film by a Vancouver filmmaker, “Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts,” which explores the role played by the Black soldiers throughout American history, with emphasis on the settling of the American West and colonialism abroad. By combining diverse perspectives, the film examines the soldiers’ sometimes contradictory roles played in American history and how they fought on two fronts: military conflicts abroad and civil rights struggles at home. The film is available to view online from Oct. 12 through Nov. 26 at watch.eventive.org/pdxff22/play/6320f8045135df00a7144414. Tickets are $12 plus a $1.25 online processing fee.
