Witches on the Water Parade and Witches Brew Fest

Forget the broom. Instead, bring your paddle board, kayak, outrigger canoe — or anything else that helps a witch float — and join the first-ever Witches on the Water Parade from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 28 at St. Helens’ Spirit of Halloweentown This free event hosted by the Zamboanga Paddling Club welcomes witches of all ages to launch their watercraft at 1 p.m. from the marina in St. Helens, 134 N. River St. After a bewitching time on the water, paddlers can warm up with a cup of soup, straighten their hats and head over to the Witches Brew Fest at St. Helens Plaza (park at 1810 Old Portland Road and take the shuttle). Every 21-and-older paddler receives one complimentary beer token. The paddling club’s witches and warlocks will be pouring locally brewed beer and cider from 4 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 27 and Oct. 28. For $25, attendees receive a commemorative glass and 12 three-ounce-pour tokens. Additional tokens are $2. Proceeds support the padding club.
