The Grotto’s Christmas Festival of Lights is Nov. 25 through Dec. 30 (except Christmas day) at 8840 N.E. Skidmore St., Portland. This walk-through event features millions of lights and about a quarter-mile of footpaths. Guests can also enjoy choir concerts in the chapel, outdoor caroling, puppet shows and live music. Visitors should dress for the weather. Attendees should bring a non-perishable food item for SnowCap charity organization. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Nov. 25-Dec. 15. Hours are 4:45 to 10 p.m. Dec. 16-30. Gates close at 9:30 p.m. daily. Admission is $14 for adults ages 12 and over and $6 for children ages 3 to 11. Children age 2 and under are free. Discount nights are Nov. 27-30 and Dec. 4-7, when tickets are $5 to $12. Tickets are more expensive at the gate ($7 to $18) and cannot be purchased with cash.
