“Tinctures 101” class online and in person

Frankie Almutawa is offering a beginner-friendly “Tinctures 101” class at The Herb Shoppe, 3912 N. Mississippi Ave., Portland, both in person and online from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 18. One of the most common herbal preparations is a tincture, an alcohol-based plant extract. Learn what makes a tincture, how to figure out dosages, which plants can and cannot be tinctured and who shouldn’t take a tincture. Students will prepare fresh plant tinctures using both the folk method and the calculation method. The in-person price is $25 per person and virtual access is $20 per person.
