The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s Chamber Music Series welcomes Rodney Sauer to the Kiggins Theatre at 7 p.m. Jan. 5 for a showing of Cecil B. DeMille’s jazz-age romantic comedy, “Why Change Your Wife?” The film will be accompanied by live music as it would have been heard in the silent film theaters of the 1920s. Starring Gloria Swanson in one of her early roles, the film tells the story of a prudish wife who loses her husband to a young vamp played by Bebe Daniels. Swanson decides to win him back, leading to bizarre hijinks. It’s full of foxtrots, jazz records, and high-fashion bathing costumes. This event is the second in a series of three silent film chamber concerts in the 2022/23 season. Get tickets ($25 for adults or $10 for students) and learn more about other concerts at vancouversymphony.org.
