Performing music from classical to classic rock, the Southwest Washington Wind Symphony will showcase the clarinet virtuosity of Matthew Nelson from the University of Louisville at a concert titled “SoundScape” from 3 to 4:30 p.m. May 21 at Union High School’s Performing Arts Center, 6201 N.W. Friberg-Strunk St., Camas. Under the baton of conductor Patrick Murphy, the program will include Joe Hisaishi’s soundtrack from “Spirited Away,” “Aurora Awakes” by John Mackey and “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Freddie Mercury. Nelson will perform excerpts from “Introduction, Theme, and Variations” by Gioacchino Rossini and “Black Dog” by Scott McAllister.
