Birdfest and Bluegrass 2023 is on Oct. 7, when the city of Ridgefield will host in-person events downtown, including a vendor marketplace from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., music, family crafts and orienteering, plus a kick-off to Walk for the Wild that goes from downtown to the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy bluegrass performances all over town from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge will offer Sandhill Crane Tours (registration required at ridgefieldfriends.org or eventbrite.com), a self-guided Carty Unit Refuge hike, hourly Carty Unit walks and talks and a “Partner Party.” The River S Auto Tour will also be open and attendees can see the winners of the refuge’s photography contest.
