Heritage Garden Party at Fort Vancouver

The Friends of Fort Vancouver will host a Heritage Garden Party from 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 19, a nod to historical Northwest horticulture and a day to honor the park’s gardening volunteers. Enjoy walks through the garden with park gardeners onsite to answer question. See food preservation techniques and 1840s kitchen tools demonstrations. Purchase recently harvested garden seeds, 1840s “snack boxes” ($10 each) and garden delights ($5). Attendees will also enjoy garden mocktails — The Billy Bruce, The Volunteer or The Pollinator — and guests 21 and over can enjoy the beer and wine garden. Learn more at friendsfortvancouver.org.
