Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon will host its annual awareness walk and fundraiser, Sole Support for Parkinson’s, at the Esther Short Park on Sept. 23. The annual event brings people whose lives are impacted by a Parkinson’s diagnosis together with a caring and supportive community for a walk along the riverfront spreading awareness about this neurodegenerative disease with no cure. Funds raised remain in the local community to help people living with the disease through exercise, education and wellness programs. Registration is required but free. Registration and check-in open at noon in Propstra Square. The walk begins at 1:30 p.m. One kilometer and five kilometer routes are walker and wheelchair friendly. To register or donate, go to solesupport.org or call 800-426-6806.
