Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series presents “Nosferatu”

The Vancouver Symphony’s Chamber Music Series welcomes Rodney Sauer of the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra back to Vancouver for a showing of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 horror masterpiece, “Nosferatu,” the first film adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula.” The performance is 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St., Vancouver. Murnau’s film follows estate agent Thomas Hutter as he is sent to Transylvania to visit the mysterious Count Orlok. Terror ensues as Orlok preys upon Hutter before boarding a ship sailing for Hutter’s hometown of Wisborg. The film will be accompanied by a period-authentic live score compiled and performed by Sauer with Vancouver Symphony Orchestra musicians Eva Richey, Dieter Ratzlaf, Bruce Dunn and Steve Bass.
