Autumn Flower Festival

The Autumn Flower Festival is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 at Shangri-La Farm in Fern Prairie. The event is free to the public. Guests should park at Grove Field Airport, 632 N.E. 267th Ave., Camas, and follow the trail through the woods to Shangri-La Farm or ride on the free shuttle to the farm.

Shangri-La Farm is currently growing about 350 dahlias, encompassing about 70 different varieties. Flower arranging demonstrations will be provided hourly by farm owner Liz Pike or take a guided tour through the grounds to see organic flower gardens, vegetable beds, a fruit orchard, berry patches, herb gardens, rose garden and lavender garden. View the farm’s apiaries and see busy honeybees in action. Richard Pike will offer apple cider pressing demonstrations throughout the day on a turn-of-the-century cider press. Plein air artists from the Northwest Oil Painters Guild will be painting on site.

The farm offers custom dahlia bouquets in season for wedding flowers, all-occasion celebrations or bouquets for home or office. A farm stand is open every day of the year selling fresh eggs, flowers, pastries, raw honey from Shangri-La Farm honeybees, jams and seasonal produce.
