Friends of Fort Vancouver will host a Heritage Garden Party, 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 3 in the garden north of the reconstructed fort. The free event features the costumed volunteers who work in the garden, 1840s food preservation demonstrations, sales of seeds harvested from the garden and related books and items. Light refreshments will be available to buy. No registration is needed to attend the party. The event also includes an outdoor watercolor painting workshop for ages 15 and up led by Pamela Gunn. The $35 fee covers all materials and two hours of instruction; attendees must register at friendsfortvancouver.org.
