The Clark County Historical Museum presents Sammuel Hawkins and his 11-piece ensemble, The Ne Plus Ultra Jass Orchestra, for its next History on Tap event, a talk exploring the influence of technology on music from 1915-1940. “Ragtime to Swing and Everything in Between,” 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Kiggins Theatre, will feature historical storytelling and live music, highlighting key moments in the development of American popular music. The event will include a range of iconic genres, from ragtime to early swing, brought to life by the jazz orchestra and conducted by Hawkins, Executive Director of the Historic Music Preservation Project.
