Arcturus Quintet at The Old Madeleine Church

The Arcturus Quintet will perform “Horns Aplenty” from 7 to 8 p.m. May 4 at The Old Madeleine Church, 3123 N.E. 24th Ave., Portland. The program features works for wind quintet and extra horns from the very early days of the wind quintet’s formation as a genre. Works include Jean-Michel Damase’s “17 Variations for Wind Quintet, Op. 22,” Hector Villa-Lobos’ “Quinteto (em forma de chôros),” and Carl Reinecke’s “Wind Sextet, Op.271.” Tickets are $30 general admission or $20 for students and seniors.
