The Friends of Fort Vancouver and the National Park Service welcome you to see Dru Holley’s film “Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts” and meet Holley from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Fort Vancouver Visitor Center, 1501 E.Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver. There is no admission charge but attendees must register at friendsfortvancouver.org.
Buffalo Soldiers served throughout most of the West in the aftermath of the Civil War until the Spanish-American War, War in the Philippines and World War I when they served overseas. Considered venerable, loyal, and highly-decorated cavalry and infantry troops, they remained segregated due to race until after World War II.
