Clark College 60th Annual Jazz Festival

Clark College will host the 60th Annual Jazz Festival Jan. 25-27 on Clark’s main campus at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver. The festival attracts over 60 middle and high school instrumental jazz ensembles. During the day, groups perform to a panel of adjudicators for the privilege of returning to perform in the evening finals competition, where they will be ranked for first, second and third place. On the festival’s final evening, one band is selected to receive the Sweepstakes Trophy. Yamaha trumpet artist Allen Vizzutti will perform with the Clark College Jazz Band at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26 and last year’s sweepstakes winner Mountain View High School Jazz Band will perform at the finals at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27. On Jan. 24, hear the University of North Texas One O’Clock Lab Band in a fundraising concert for jazz band scholarships, at 7:30 p.m.  in the Gaiser Student Center. Admission is $22 if purchased online by Jan. 22 or $25 cash at the door. Donations in lieu of attendance are welcome. The Clark College Jazz Band will open the One O’Clock show with a 30-minute set.
