The Clark County Genealogical Society will host its 50th anniversary celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Clark County Genealogical Society Library, 3205 N.E. 52nd St., Vancouver. The event, a 70s-themed costume party that is open to the public, will be held rain or shine outdoors. Covered seating will be available. Lunch will be provided, including hot dogs and fixings, side dishes, cookies and water. Compete in the costume contest, tour the library and meet expert genealogists. View the “Gallery of Grandmothers” exhibit, featuring hundreds of photographs of grandmothers and biographical information submitted by people from all over Clark County. While there, pick up a copy of the book, “Celebrating 50 Years of History,” for $20 or buy a “My Roots Are Here” tote bag that can be personalized with your family’s story.
