The Clark County Historical Museum presents “Stomp and Shout: The Untold Story of Northwest Rock & Roll,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at Fourth Plain Community Commons, 3101 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Suite 101, Vancouver. The presenter is author Peter Blecha, the director of the Northwest Music Archives, founding curator at Seattle’s Museum of Pop Art and staff historian at HistoryLink.org. Blecha’s newest book, “Stomp and Shout: R&B and the Origins of Northwest Rock and Roll,” draws on his knowledge of Pacific Northwest music history to chronicle both well-known bands (like Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam) and overlooked icons of the early Northwest Sound (like The Wailers, The Kingsmen, Paul Revere and the Raiders). Admission is free.
