Clark Public Utilities Home and Garden Idea Fair

The 30th annual Clark Public Utilities Home and Garden Idea Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 29 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 30 at the Clark County Event Center, 17402 NE Delfel Rd. Ridgefield. Admission is free but parking is $6 cash or ride for free on the shuttle bus service from the Fisher’s Landing and 99th Street transit stations. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food items for local food banks or cash for Operation Warm Heart, a program providing home heating grants to families in financial crisis. Visitors can also bring burned out screw-in compact fluorescent light bulbs for safe recycling. Get details at www.homeandgardenideafair.com.

The event features 200 vendors and exhibitors, including a full-size landscape display showcase, and the plant sale is one of the region’s largest. Numerous vendors and nurseries participate, with everything from vegetable starts and local plants, to hanging baskets and garden art for sale. The Salmon Creek Farmers Market will also host a collection of local market vendors on the midway. Kids can visit PowerZone Live for free activities, safety demonstrations, nature-inspired craft projects and fun with utility line workers. Guests can walk through the ADU Cottage Neighborhood to learn about the benefits of adding an accessory dwelling unit to your property, then head over to the EV Garage to speak with a Clark Public Utilities employee volunteers about switching to an electric vehicle.
