The Veterans and First Responders Board of Southwest Washington is hosting a dinner and concert fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 28 at Living Hope Church, 2711 N.E. Andresen Rd., Vancouver, to honor the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers and to honor first responders. Proceeds will be split between Buffalo Soldiers and first responders. Entertainment will be provided by classical guitarist Ernesto Quilban with Jojo Pagulayan on the drums from 5 to 6 p.m. Blues singer Myrtle Brown and her band Executive Groove will perform from 6 to 7 p.m. with Pete Moss on the saxophone. Grand Ole Opry performer Ricky Lee Jackson and Shawna Quade from will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Raffle items will be drawn throughout the evening, including Portland Trailblazer tickets, wine from a local vineyard, a gift basket and handmade quilt.
