“Evidence” Dance Company at We Are One Festival

White Bird’s second annual We Are One Festival kicks off with Ronald K. Brown’s dance company, Evidence, at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Evidence will perform three works exploring human struggles,
tragedies, and triumphs: “Open Door,” “The Equality of Night and Day (TEND)” and “Upside Down.” Tickets are $32 to $75 at www.whitebird.org or the Portland’5 box office at 1111 S.W. Broadway or call 503-245-1600 ext. 201.

Brooklyn-based Evidence integrates African dance with contemporary choreography, music and spoken word. Brown uses movement as a way to reinforce the importance of community in African-American culture and to acquaint audiences with the beauty of African dance forms and rhythms.
