Hook and Needle, a women-owned independent yarn shop at 621 Broadway St., Vancouver, will offer a “Learn to Crochet a Modern Granny Square” workshop with Becka Denning from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 27. Students will learn how to construct granny squares, how to work with multiple colors and be given ideas about how to incorporate granny squares into larger projects. The pattern will be provided in class. Students should bring their favorite hook and yarn or purchase supplies in the store at a 15% discount. This class is best suited for students with intermediate skill levels or “adventurous beginners” who are determined to learn a new skill. The class is $45 per person.
