John Primer performs at Alberta Abbey

Blues icon John Primer will perform at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 at Alberta Abbey, 126 N.E. Alberta St., Portland. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the opening act is Vintage Soul. Primer will perform with Steve Bell backed by Brian Foxworth and Ben Jones.

Primer is a two-time Grammy-nominated blues artist who was Muddy Waters’ band leader and lead guitarist. He has received two Lifetime Achievement Awards and was inducted into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame. Proceeds from the concert will benefit three local non-profit organizations Love Is Stronger, Elevate Unity and T.E.A.M. S.A.F.E.R.
