A reception honoring Hanson and Mosser will be from 5 to 9 pm Friday, Sept. 2, sponsored by the Clark County Arts Commission. It is free and open to the public.
Hanson’s body of work began as a love letter to IKEA’s iconic home goods and ended as a study in personal archeology. Each painting contains at least one IKEA product, but also includes fragments of Hanson’s day-to-day life, providing a window into the artist’s world.
Mosser grew up in Southwest Portland, and as a child, she was always outside in nature. The lush Pacific Northwest nature has greatly influenced her art. Colors and structures inherent to plants, animals, the ocean, as well as Czech and Hungarian folk art designs provide Mosser with endless sources of inspiration.
