Join the WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardener program for an “On the Road” garden tour from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 27. Vans depart from Enterprise Rent-a-Car, 9319 N.E. Highway 99 in the Hazel Dell area of Vancouver, at 8:30 a.m. sharp. The cost is $35 per person. The first stop Garden Fever Nursery in Portland’s Irving District. Tour-takers will arrive before the store is open for a short garden talk, followed by browsing around the nursery for garden gifts, perennials and house plants. The next stop is Hughes Water Gardens in Tualatin, nestled in a peaceful country setting with retail and wholesale operations, display gardens and a large nursery. The tour group will receive a demonstration from a nursery expert on creating a small home water feature, followed by time to explore the display gardens and shop. Lastly, the group will stop for lunch at a local restaurant (not included in the tour price) before returning to Vancouver.
