Metropolitan Performing Arts Presents a Night of Magic

Metropolitan Performing Arts will offer a Harry Potter-themed evening for adults age 21 and over, “A Night of Magic,” from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 19 at 6403 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver. Castle doors open at 6:45 p.m. to check in and to fill out or drop off your house-sorting quiz. The Sorting Ceremony will begin once the hat is ready but he can be persnickety in how long he takes with his speech. After the sorting, there will be wandcrafting, classes on Defence Against the Dark Arts, Tarot card readings, a trivia game with prizes and a costume contest. Polyjuice potion is included with each $40 ticket (and non-alcoholic refreshments are available as well). Purchase food and concessions or visit the bar to buy additional drinks.
