Nashville in the Northwest is a songwriters’ festival that brings together some of Country and Americana music’s top songwriters, as well as emerging artists and songwriters from Nashville, Tennessee and the Pacific Northwest. It will be held at La Uva Fortuna (formerly The Rusty Grape) at 16712 N.E. 219th St., Battle Ground, on Aug. 5.
The performance will be presented listening-room style with the five songwriters on stage taking turns sharing songs and stories, trading harmonies and accompanying one another. Featured performers are Jeff Middleton, Tori Tullier, Austin Jenckes, Ian Christian and Justin Klump. The event also includes performances by Britnee Kellogg and McKayla Marie. A portion of ticket sales will benefit The Columbia Future Forge, a non-profit mentoring and training program where young adults from diverse backgrounds learn professional job skills.
The evening begins with a tasting event featuring Hood River distillers from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, beer and wine. Appetizers will be available to purchase from La Uva Fortuna. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $15 in advance or $20 at the door starting at 6:30 p.m., if tickets are available.
