NatureScaping Wildlife Botanical Gardens will host a worm composting workshop: “Vermicomposting; Turn Your Garbage into Gold” at the CASEE Center, 11104 N.E. 149th St. in Brush Prairie, from 10 a.m. to noon June 17.
The class will be presented by Capt. Brigg Franklin, coast guard officer, instructor, master worm wrangler, and bee herder at the Wildlife Botanical Gardens. He will lead attendees through how to make simple worm composting bins using. Discussion topics will include where to find the right worms, how to herd worm stock from the finished compost to new material, and how the resulting fertilizer-rich compost can be used.
Class will be held in Building B, Room 205 of the CASEE Center, registration is free for members or $15 per-person for non-members.
