Norwegian Folk Fiddle Recital

Renowned Scandinavian folk fiddler Peter Michaelsen will perform at 3:30 p.m. June 25 in Grieg Lodge at Norse Hall, 111 N.E. 11th Ave., Portland. Michaelsen will discuss the Norwegian instrument called the Hardanger fiddle and play some tunes. Tickets are $10 or $5 for Sons of Norway members), available at the door. Doors open at 3 p.m. The Oslo Lounge will be open for beverages.

Michaelsen has been awarded a bronze medal in the Swedish National Competition for folk musicians (the Zornmärk) and has played with several well-known Swedish and Norwegian folk groups. He is on the staff of several annual music and dance camps in the U.S. and has toured nationally and played for  dances and workshops from coast to coast.
