Online Birding Class: Meet Your Summer Neighborhood and Feeder Birds

TreeSong Nature Awareness and Retreat Center will host an online birding class “Meet Your Summer Neighborhood and Feeder Birds” from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
The course will discuss summer migrant birds, hummingbirds, and baby birds likely to be seen in backyards around the area. Attendees will get to know what birds to expect around neighborhood parks and yards, and learn how you can attract them, host them, and keep them safe.
Longtime birder and teacher Laura Whittemore will lead the course. Whittemore loves to show beginners the tricks of the trade. She has taught classes for Audubon Society of Portland and previously worked for Backyard Bird Shop, where she helped bird-feeding enthusiasts ID those confusing little brown birds. Laura holds a BA in Biology from Lewis and Clark College and has traveled in the US, Australia, South Africa, and Antarctica in search of birds.
Registration is required to attend and closes at 8:00am the day of the class, cost starts at $10 per person. Register online at www.treesongnatureawareness.org.
