Online Herb Shoppe Workshop: Tinctures 101

The Herb Shoppe, 3912 N. Mississippi Ave., Portland, will host an online workshop, “Tinctures 101,” from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 21 instructed by herbalist and Herb Shoppe employee Frankie Almutawa.

A tincture is an alcohol-based extraction of a plant. Almutawa will go in depth about what makes a tincture, how to figure out dosages, which plants you should and should not tincture and who shouldn’t take a tincture. Attendees will prepare fresh plant tinctures in two methods: the folk method and the calculation method. The class is geared toward beginners.
