The Oregon Historical Society will host Holiday Cheer from noon until 4 p.m. Dec. 4 at 1200 S.W. Park Ave., Portland. Chat with 70 local authors and get into the spirit of the season at this annual celebration of Oregon’s literary talents as you sip on hot cocoa, listen to carols, and get a jump on your holiday shopping. Admission is free. Some of the Pacific Northwest’s most prominent authors will be at OHS selling everything from children’s books to guidebooks to mysteries to histories. The Dickens Carolers will be strolling through the museum performing holiday songs from 2 tp 3 p.m. Plus, Santaland, a nostalgic vignette featuring items from the original Meier & Frank display, will be on view with Rudolph, animatronic elves, holiday decor and a monorail model. The museum and all its exhibits will be open with free admission until 5 p.m.
